TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Senator Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) says he'll lead a fight in the Senate to defeat a bill aimed at global warming. The bill was introduced by Senators John Warner (R-Virg.) and Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) and is intended to cut greenhouse gases that are causing a warming of the earth's surface.
Inhofe is a leading skeptic of global warming and has called it a hoax. He says the bill will lead to higher utility bills and cost millions of jobs.
The bill has passed the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee.
