Christmas came early for some Green Country kids. The Home Builders Association of Greater Tulsa treated Ryal School students to a $50 shopping spree at Wal-Mart. Eighty-eight kids made the annual winter trip from Henryetta to South Tulsa on Thursday.
The Home Builders Association has been buying gifts for the kids for more than 35 years. For some families it's become a holiday tradition.
“We now have kids that have parents that went though the program and it's something the kids look forward to every year and really enjoy coming,†said Ryal School principal Jerry Hurst.
After the kids filled their shopping carts they loaded two school buses. Their next stop was a Christmas party with Santa Clause and a live reindeer.
