A school bus with five students on board was involved in an accident Thursday afternoon. The bus driver, 36-year-old Phoebe Lewis of Chelsea, failed to yield at a yield sign on a county road about four miles northeast of Chelsea, according to a report by Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Matt Sullivan of the Rogers County detachment.
The 1999 International school bus struck a 2002 Volkswagen driven by 22-year-old Brandi Schattenkerk, also of Chelsea. Schattenkerk’s car left the roadway and struck a fence before coming to a stop.
No one was injured in the collision which took place just after 4 p.m., according to the trooper’s report.
