OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ The first anti-tobacco campaign produced specifically for Oklahoma will be launched in January. Dubbed ``Tobacco Stops with Me,'' the $1.5 million advertising campaign includes television, radio, print and billboard advertising that is geared for Oklahomans.
The campaign is targeted to be a three-year campaign, first focusing on the problem of tobacco use and then taking a look at solutions.
Oklahoma Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust Fund Executive Director Tracey Strader says it's taken the board five years to have enough earnings on hand to pay for a thorough advertising campaign.
The board had only about $500,000 in its first year of operation, and previously has used advertising produced by other states.
This year, the board has about $14.6 million to spend. Nearly all of it comes from interest from the tobacco settlement endowment.
