ADA, Okla. (AP) _ A man accused of causing the death of an East Central University football player has been arraigned in Pontotoc District Court on a first degree murder charge and nine counts of assault and battery with a deadly weapon.
Amman Reich of Konawa, is accused of using his pickup truck to ram another pickup from behind. The impact caused 18-year-old Joseph Tusan of Arlington, Texas, to be thrown from the bed of the truck and killed.
Four others were also thrown from the truck and injured. Two students remain hospitalized.
Tusan was a red-shirt freshman defensive back at the university.
Pontotoc County Assistant District Attorney Chris Ross says the students were looking for a party in area under a bridge Saturday night and got into a confrontation with some other people in the area.
Officials say Reich ended the fight by firing a gun.
