BRISTOW, Okla. (AP) -- The trial of double-murder suspect Scott Eizember has been moved from Creek County to Canadian County because of the intense media coverage of his manhunt and capture.
Creek County District Judge Joe Sam Vassar said he was concerned that potential jurors may have been exposed to this coverage.
Eizember, 43, is accused of first-degree murder charges in the Oct. 18, 2003, beating death of A.J. Cantrell, 76, and the shooting death of his wife, Patsy Cantrell, 70, in their Depew home.
Eizember also is charged with shooting with an intent to kill Tyler Montgomery, 16, the son of Eizember's ex-girlfriend, Kathy Biggs, and assaulting Karla Wright, Biggs' mother.
Eizember could face the death penalty if he is convicted of killing the Cantrells.
