UNDATED (AP) -- At least two people have drowned in Oklahoma lakes in the past few days.
In southern Oklahoma, Carter County sheriff's divers found the body of 38-year-old John Carroll in Lake Murray around 11 Sunday night.
Carroll had been camping near the lake's shoreline when the Ardmore resident entered the water and swam out about 175 feet to a fishing buoy.
Park ranger Jon Nelson says those who were with Carroll said he had consumed quite a bit of beer before going into the water.
In central Oklahoma, 25-year-old Chad Stephens drowned just before 2 Monday morning in Lake Thunderbird.
The Lake Patrol says Stephens was helping a second person load a disabled boat at the lake when he disappeared beneath the surface.
His body was spotted a short time later floating near the boat ramp. Attempts to revive him were unsuccessful.
