DALLAS (AP) A New York Yankees uniform worn by Commerce, Oklahoma, native Mickey Mantle in 1963 will be sold in a public auction this weekend.
Heritage Galleries of Dallas says the original, unaltered-for-minor-leagues uniform could fetch at least 100-thousand dollars.
Bidding will take place at the Friday-through-Saturday auction in Long Beach, California, as well as online.
Heritage sports actions director Chris Ivy says it was common until the 1970s for big-league teams to send major league jerseys down to the minors at season's end. As a result, he says almost all other existing game-worn Mantle jerseys have been restored after minor league alterations.
