Many Tulsa kids are experiencing the back to school blues these days.

That's why Cox Communications and Showtime partnered with the Salvation Army's Boys and Girls Clubs to help cure those blues. They hosted a back to school bar-b-que.

At the cookout Tuesday afternoon, they handed out hundreds of backpacks loaded with school supplies.

Showtime Network donated the backpacks, while employees at Cox Communications donated the school supplies.

About 300 backpacks were distributed in the Tulsa area.
