LAWTON, Okla. (AP) -- A group of 15 PSO utility workers from southwest Oklahoma are home after helping restore power after Hurricane Charley hit Florida.

Dee Davis says the crews took their own bucket and equipment trucks and worked 16-hour days to bring electricity back on line.

The crews left on August 12th, before Charley hit the mainland. They stayed in the Florida Panhandle until it moved through, then drove to the Tampa area to begin work.

Davis says the January 2002 ice storm in Oklahoma caused more damage, but the crews in Florida had to contend with rain and lightning each day.
