NORMAN, Okla. (AP) _ Quarterbacks Paul Thompson and Tommy Grady got to shine in the latest Oklahoma scrimmage.

Thompson directed two scoring drives and Grady tossed for two scores during yesterday's 83-play practice before five-thousand fans at Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.

Thompson finished ten-of-18 for 76 yards, while Grady tossed two scoring passes and finished nine-of-17 yards for 79 yards.

O-U coach Bob Stoops says coaches wanted Heisman Trophy winner Jason White to sit out the scrimmage so that they could evaluate the abilities of the other quarterbacks.

True freshman Rhett Bomar caught 11-of-21 passes for 74 yards, while Kejuan Jones had 11 carries for 47 yards.

Cornerback Darien Williams had nine tackles.
