OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ American Red Cross volunteers from Oklahoma are heading to the east coast Friday to help hurricane victims.

With Hurricane Charley bearing down on Florida's west coast four volunteers and two emergency response vehicles from the Central Oklahoma Chapter of the Red Cross left Friday.

They're taking drinks, snacks and cleanup kits and will provide support to workers and residents displaced by the storm.

The group will go to Alabama where they'll get their assignment.
