A Braggs couple was arrested for burglarizing the home of an elderly woman who was hospitalized after an assault.

A Muskogee County undersheriff witnessed Debra Melton and Lymon Melton removing items from the home of Dana Parsons. Parsons has been hospitalized since Sunday with broken bones and bruises. Her son, David, was arrested for that assault and remains in jail.

It started when authorities received a call of a suspicious vehicle at Parson's home. The undersheriff parked down the street and watched as the Melton's carried items out of the home.

The couple was pulled over a short time later and taken to jail.
