STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) -- Oklahoma State University has a new strategic plan up for approval, but not without some criticism from faculty.
Some faculty members are asking questions about the $276,000 spent for a consultant to handle the study and the fact that a competitive bidding process was bypassed. University President David Schmidly says the same consultant handled the strategic plan when he was at Texas Tech University. And he says he thought it would quicker and cheaper if he used someone already familiar with the process.
The plan deals with goals for the entire university and its individual academic departments.
It will be up for review on the university's Web site from August 16th until the end of the month. Regents will consider approving the plan September 9th.
