OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The cost of impeachment-related proceedings against state Insurance Commissioner Carroll Fisher has already reached $90,000.

That cost could skyrocket if the full Legislature is summoned back to the Capitol to consider Fisher's impeachment and possible ouster.

House Chief Clerk Larry Warden says costs exceed $100,000 per week during a special session.

Most of the costs so far center on legal bills, including salary for prominent Oklahoma City attorney Burck Bailey. Bailey was hired to serve as special counsel for the committee.

An eight-member legislative panel has worked since March to investigate Fisher. Fisher is facing felony charges of embezzlement and operating a charity illegally.
