A pair of documentary filmmakers hopes to bring Oklahoma's tattooing controversy to the silver screen.
Native Oklahomans and current Washington DC residents Devin Williams and Erik von Kaenel spent the past few days in Tulsa, shooting scenes for their film "Illegal Ink".
The film focuses on Oklahoma and South Carolina, the only two states where tattooing is illegal. With South Carolina poised to legalize tattooing, debate is heating up about whether Oklahoma should follow suit.
Devin Williams: "The people that are for tattooing are purely wanting to regulate it because it’s a health issue. The people against it, majority wise, seem to be fighting it because of a morality issue."
The filmmakers hope to have their film finished by February.
