(Tulsa-AP) -- A felony charge against an Oklahoma State football recruit was reduced Monday to a misdemeanor.
Prentiss Elliott of Tulsa was charged with felony assault and battery on a police officer at halftime of a high school basketball game in December.
Elliott's attorney says Judge Thomas Gillert reduced that charge to a misdemeanor. Attorney Richard O'Carroll says the judge ruled that the officer was not working as a police officer at the time, but as security guard for Tulsa Public Schools.
O'Carroll says Elliott will continue to fight the charge because he's innocent.
