A Sapulpa man, convicted of murder, will get a new trial because the jury in the case was allowed to leave the courthouse for lunch.
The jury convicted Calvin Johnson [pictured] of murder in the 1999 killing of Russell Milton. Milton had just received a large disability check.
The state appeals court ruled the jury in the case should've been sequestered after hearing closing arguments, but instead they were given a 75-minute lunch break.
