(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Some state workers will be getting pay raises soon.

State agency directors will each get a 14-hundred-dollar raise starting July 1st.

The Legislature OK'd the raises this session.

The raise for state employees is in two phases. The second raise will be $700.

Highway patrol troopers, judges and teachers are all getting raises.

Judges' raises will take effect July 1st, 2005.

Teachers' raises are part of a five-year plan that will start with fully funded health insurance premiums.

Several new salary guidelines are also taking effect. The rules are designed to make state agency salaries more competitive with private-sector and other public-sector jobs.
