Girl hit, killed on Interstate 44 in Oklahoma City

(Oklahoma City-AP) -- An 18-year-old woman from Edmond died early this morning after she was hit by a car on Interstate 44 in Oklahoma City.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports Chaunte Taylor was pushing a shopping cart along the inside lane of eastbound I-44 near Broadway Extension.

A 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix hit her at 1:20 a-m. The driver, 28-year-old Carl Anderson of Oklahoma City, wasn't hurt. He's been arrested for driving with a suspended license.

Taylor died at the scene from massive injuries.
