Good news for Tulsa's economy. 1,000 new jobs are on their way to Tulsa.

Satellite TV provider EchoStar Communications announced its plans Thursday morning. They will start the hiring process next week for about a thousand jobs in customer service, information technology, and human resources. Company officials say the pay will start at about $9 an hour.

A company spokesman says the company is gaining more subscribers, so it needs more customer service employees. The Tulsa operation will be EchoStar's 10th customer service center in the US.

EchoStar will hold a job fair next week in the TV Guide Building at 71st & Lewis. They will be taking applications Tuesday from 3-7 PM. And again on Wednesday from 9 AM to 7 PM.
