BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (AP) _ Kellogg Co. is recalling some of its 18-ounce boxes of Corn Flakes because they contain undeclared milk and wheat, the company said Monday.
Kellogg says the problem was uncovered after the company realized another cereal that contains milk and wheat was mistakenly packaged in Corn Flakes boxes.
The recall affects about 6,300 packages of the cereal sold with UPC code 381200, a use-by date of March 31, 2005, and the number KLB 009 stamped on top of the box. The packages were distributed in stores in the Midwest and western United States.
No illnesses have been reported so far, but the breakfast food producer said people who have allergies or severe sensitivities to wheat or milk could have life-threatening allergic reactions if they eat the cereal.
