(Purcell-AP) -- State investigators believe the shooting death of a 5-year-old Purcell boy who was an accident.

Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Jessica Brown says Isaiah Skager was playing with a loaded nine-millimeter handgun this morning when it went off, hitting him in the head.

Brown says Skager's mother, grandmother and sibling were inside the house when the shooting occurred. She says the mother woke up when she heard the shot and found her son.

Brown says everything is consistent with the shooting being an accident.
