A Green Country town is making a community-wide effort to be prepared for potential disasters. Broken Arrow was just recently in the line of fire of a potential disaster.
On April 22nd a small tornado touched down, causing some damage. But it could have been worse.
That storm is one reason the town is getting input from citizens. It's developing a master plan for handling both "natural" and “man-made†disasters.
The fire and police department and American Red Cross were also there to help families create their own emergency plans. Steve Bradley with the Broken Arrow Police Department: "If you call emergency help, you can have a device put on your porch light that causes the porch light to blink and helps the public safety responders find your home easier."
