MIAMI, Okla. (AP) _ A former Ottawa County jailer who allegedly had sex with a jail inmate is free on $10,000 bond.

Ottawa County prosecutors charged Jeff Thomure Jr. with two counts each of first-degree rape and sodomy.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation was contacted by the Sheriff's Office after an inmate accused Thomure, 20, of having a sexual relationship with her while he was a jailer.

According to District Attorney Eddie Wyant, the acts allegedly happened within the past few months.

State law bars a jailer from having sexual contact _ consensual or not _ with an inmate.

Thomure worked for the Sheriff's Office from July until March, when he was fired in connection with an unrelated incident.

He is scheduled to appear Wednesday in Ottawa County District Court.
