Tulsa's city council district 3 has a new councilor. A re-vote between incumbent David Patrick and challenger Roscoe Turner has Turner celebrating.
He won this election 54%(1,369 votes) to 46%(1,147 votes), a margin of 232 votes. Turner lost the first one by just 3 votes. Voter turnout was much lower this time around, and Patrick thinks that hurt his chances, but he wishes all the new councilors well. "I'm just kind of relieved that the whole process is over, 'course it ain't exactly what I wished but y'know it does lift a big weight off my shoulders."
The special election was called after Turner challenged the results last time. It was later discovered Republican voters were mistakenly allowed to vote in the Democratic primary.
