It's out with the old and in with the new at the Tulsa Raceway Park, formerly called The International Raceway.
Crews tore down the timing tower Monday. The tower has been an icon at the raceway for several generations. Some hate to see the old tower go, but say they are excited about future improvements.
John Chamberlain with Tulsa Raceway Park: "We're bringing in a whole new facility, track surface, new tower and grand stands. We want to bring back national events and the participation of family in the racing community."
The new facility will also have a totally renovated drag strip, along with a 2.3-mile road coarse and 3/8ths asphalt oval.
