Sequoyah County District Court jurors in Kenneth Barrett's murder trial will begin deliberating Friday.

Barrett is charged with first-degree murder in the 1999 shooting death of Trooper David "Rocky" Eales. Eales was killed as he and other troopers tried to serve a search warrant at Barrett's rural home.

Defense attorneys say Barrett fired in self-defense. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.
