A Tulsa neighborhood that lost a battle to block plans for a strip club, hopes to keep a bail bond company out of a house on 51st Street.

Neighbors say if the city approves a zoning change, ABC Bail Bonds will make a duplex at 2506 East 51st Street, its permanent home. The business opened in a house facing 51st Street between Harvard and Lewis.

Tulsa's planning commission has to approve a zoning change. Neighbors are working together to fight it. Tim Armer, Homeowners Association President: “It's just something that's not compatible, the neighborhoods are very upset, and so are the businesses nearby who don't want to see this kind of business in this zoning district.”

Several former homes on that stretch of 51st Street have already been zoned for office use. The city zoning code makes no distinction between different types of offices.
