McAlester - McAlester investigators are waiting for the state Medical Examiner's Office to determine how a man found near the Jackie Brannon Correctional Center died.

The body of 44-year-old John Edward Larison was found Thursday morning by a woman who had gone to look at house that was up for sale.

Assistant Police Chief George Scott says investigators don't know how Larison died but they did find what may be blood and possible drag marks leading up to the body.

Scott says the body may have been drug from some nearby apartments.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has been asked to help with the probe.
