(Shawnee-AP) -- The discovery of a woman's nude body in a creek bed in Pottawatomie County has led to the county's first homicide investigation of the new year.

Sheriff Kurt Shirey says the body of a white woman was found on Thursday. Shirey says the victim apparently died sometime late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning.

Shirey says there's no immediate indication of cause of death. He says there are no visible wounds to the body.

The woman was believed to be about 20 to 25 years old. She had long blonde hair and was thin. Shirey says she also had two tattoos that may help authorities identify her.

A tattoo reading ``Lil Tex'' was on her right shoulder. Another that says ``Moma'' was tattooed on her inside right leg, just above the ankle.
