(Hugo-AP) -- A Hugo woman is dead after the car she was driving collided with a tractor-trailer rig in southeastern Oklahoma.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 71-year-old Betty Ortiz was killed in the crash about 6:30 Wednesday night on US Highway 271 south of Hugo.

Troopers say the tractor-trailer rig was crossing the southbound lane of 271 to turn onto the northbound lane when the car driven by Ortiz crashed into the rig. Troopers say Ortiz did not have her car's headlights on at the time.
