(Oklahoma City-AP) -- A Houston-based auto rental business has been ordered to refund over $167,000 to 58 Oklahoma consumers.
The Oklahoma Supreme Court says Aple Auto Cash Express improperly operated a rent-to-own business.
The high court says the business was actually operating as a loan service without following loan industry guidelines.
Attorney General Drew Edmondson says Aple was purchasing used vehicles from people and then selling them back to the same people on a rent-to-own basis.
The company has an office in Tulsa.
