Prosecutors are fighting an attempt to release a teenager who pleaded guilty to killing a Tulsa man two years ago.

17-year-old Mitchell Roberts was just 15 when he was charged with the first degree murder of 71-year-old Donald Green of Tulsa. Green was strangled and beaten, then his body dumped in a Kentucky creek.

Roberts pleaded guilty and was sentenced to a 10 year term as a youth offender. It's now possible he could be paroled as early as next month, that's when a special hearing will take place.

Co-defendant JB Cole was sentenced to life in prison without parole
for Green's murder.
