(Miami, Oklahoma-AP) -- A Miami man is in critical condition today after being shot by police, and three officers are on administrative leave in connection with the shooting.
Authorities say Andrew Roy Haskins was shot last night when he pointed a shotgun at the officers.
Ottawa County Sheriff Dennis King says Haskins is hospitalized in Joplin, Missouri, with a gunshot wound to the head and is being kept alive by a ventilator.
Two Ottawa County deputies and a Miami (MY-AM'-uh) police officer are on administrative leave pending an investigation by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
King says Haskins' wife called police last night saying he had threatened her. King says the officers found Haskins near his home about 10:40 p-m and shot him after he refused to put down a shotgun he was pointing at them.
