Boeing's announcement to add more jobs in Tulsa is generating a lot of excitement about the economy.
Boeing says it will hire 500 additional employees over the next five years. Those employees will work on wing components for the new 7E7 jet.
Dr David Dyson is the dean of the ORU Business School. He says the hirings will have a ripple effect, "then you get that multiplied, going again and people buying over and over again, we're looking at possibly up to $300-million impact. That's a significant improvement."
Boeing will begin hiring more employees after the first of the year. By the way, Tulsa is still in the running for the final assembly plant for the 7E7. That would mean 1,200 new jobs.
