Some Oklahoma families are counting their blessings. 300-soldiers from the 2nd Battalion, 18th Field Artillery have returned to Fort Sill after eight months in Iraq.
Six soldiers from their Battalion were killed in a helicopter attack two weeks ago. Family members had to wait through two months of delays. But their soldiers are finally home.
Steve Christ with the US Army: “It feels great, I have my wife, and my family and that's all that matters.â€
US Army Sgt Marcus King: “It's been kind of a dream for so long, I wondered what it would be like to be home and stuff now it's finally here, and it doesn't seem real.â€
The soldiers will be home two weeks before they start training again. Two more groups of soldiers will return to Fort Sill this week.
