The city of Sapulpa is considering annexing a west Tulsa county shopping center, and the businesses that surround it.

The area is along I-44 west of Tulsa, in what is now an unincorporated part of Tulsa County. Itâ€™s mainly motels, trucking related businesses, and the Town West Shopping Center. If it was annexed by Sapulpa, the sales tax on every purchase would go up by 4%.

Some in the area don't want to be part of Sapulpa. Floyd Dick with Midway Radiator: â€œthe only thing Sapulpa can offer us is four more cents per dollar.â€

Sapulpa is studying whether it's worth it to annex Town West. A study of the idea won't be done until February.

Opponents are organizing to try to stop the plan.
