A group of Oklahomans is working to make the holidays a little more bearable for the men and women serving overseas.

The Blue Star Moms have sons and daughters in the service. They're putting together a special holiday delivery and need your help. This is more than just a gathering of friends; these women share a common bond and a mission.

They say packing holiday freedom boxes for the troops helps them pass the time and give something back to their children in the military. Blue Star mom, Barbara Porter: "We just feel like they really need something from home because they gave up their family time to be over there to protect us and our families so we want to make it a little bit special for them."

The Blue Star Moms have already shipped off 135 boxes. Their goal is 400 more, to Iraq, Afghanistan and anywhere troops are serving overseas.

If you want to help with donations you can send them to PO Box 2306, Tulsa. 74101. Or for more information call 358-5013.
