(Pauls Valley-AP) -- The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says an airplane struck a house and both were destroyed.
The OHP says a 1946 fixed-wing, single engine plane took off from the Pauls Valley airport runway Sunday.
Troopers say once it was airborne, the plane began to lose power.
The pilot attempted to turn back to the runway, but struck the roof of a residence.
Troopers say the plane and the unoccupied house caught fire, and both were destroyed.
Pilot Charles Gregory Lucas and passenger Kevin Otto Eubanks, both of Pauls Valley, were able to get out of the aircraft before it caught fire.
Both refused treatment at the scene.
The OHP says the Federal Aviation Administration has been notified and a flight inspector is on the way.
