American Airlines is cutting a thousand workers from the payroll in St. Louis. Could that have consequences for the American Airline workers in Tulsa?

News on 6 business reporter Steve Berg says KOTV obtained a memo from the Transport Workers Union. It tells workers that some of them, not many, but some here in Tulsa might be at risk.

The union has what they call a "bumping" process. Basically what that means is that if a worker in St. Louis has more seniority than a worker here in Tulsa, then they might be able to take their job, or "bump" them out of their job.

The union tells us however that most of the American Airlines workers in St. Louis are former TWA workers. So very few people there have seniority over workers here.

Besides that, even if they did have seniority there, they would have to be willing to pack up and move to Tulsa. So the union is telling its members here they have very limited exposure. But exposure nevertheless.
