(Undated-AP) -- The non-conference games are about over.

Beginning Saturday, the REAL season begins in the Big 12 Conference -- the one that determines the division champions, title-game foes and, ultimately, who will play in BCS bowl games.

Top-ranked Oklahoma was supposed to have a dogfight just to win the Big 12's South Division. But they've come out of the first month looking stronger than ever.

OU is the only South school that's undefeated.

Oklahoma's only tight game was at Alabama. The Sooners won because coach Bob Stoops called the right trick play at the right time.

Oklahoma State still hasn't regained the preseason ranking it held before losing to Nebraska. The Cowboys could have another rout Saturday against Louisiana-Lafayette, then face Kansas State.
