(Miami-AP) -- A 42-year-old man will be confined to a federal prison until he is at least 60 under a sentence handed down on a weapons charge.

Jimmy Lee Sharbutt of Miami was sentenced to 21 and one-half years in prison Friday following his conviction under the Armed Career Criminal Act.

Under federal sentencing guidelines, Sharbutt must serve at least 85 percent of his sentence. That means he'll not be eligible for release until March 2022.

Sharbutt was convicted in April after a three-day trial in federal court in Tulsa of a single-count of possession of a firearm by convicted felon.

Prosecutors say his sentence was enhanced because he has three prior felony convictions, including one for armed robbery.
