(Kiowa, Kansas-AP) -- Ten cars on Burlington Northern-Santa Fe train derailed in Barber County, Kansas, near the Kansas-Oklahoma border.

The derailment occurred near Kiowa, Kansas, just north of Alfalfa County, Oklahoma, spilling about six-thousand gallons of diesel fuel.

A spokeswoman for the Kansas Division of Emergency Management says the train was also carrying hazardous material. But county sheriff's department dispatcher Joni Boggs says the only know spill is the diesel fuel, which is now contained.
