Tulsa TV Guide employees have their worst fears confirmed Friday when the president of the company's television group announced the production department would be leaving Tulsa and moving to Los Angeles.
The News on 6 learned about the move Thursday night from a company memo. News on 6 reporter Heather Johnson spoke to employees after Friday’s employee meeting.
Most employees did not want to comment, but those I did speak too were frustrated and angry. Workers poured out of a company meeting many still unclear on what the future holds. One woman told me company officials had no answers for workers but said the production department is moving and they could not confirm when.
As for the 50 to 60 affected, Ian Aaron, television group president for TV Guide says they told employees they would be wiping the slate clean. What that means is no job security for the people currently holding those positions inside their offices near 71st and Lewis.
Aaron says the restructuring is happening company wide. He says this is a strategic location and TV Guide will continue to have a presence here in Tulsa.
