We're a little more than three weeks away from election day in Tulsa County. County residents will head to the polls September 9th to vote on the Vision 2025 sales tax increase.

The four-part proposal calls for a 1-cent increase in sales tax over the next 13 years. Saturday, Tulsans took part in a Run/Walk to say "Yes" to the plan. News on 6 reporter Patrina Adger says the turnout was much lower than expected.

About 3-dozen people took part in the run/walk along Riverside Drive Saturday morning. While the group was small, their vision for a brighter Tulsa was anything but. The few and proud walked with their vision signs held high. Many parents, their children and their four legged friends took part.

Mayor Bill LaFortune got up early to walk for the cause. The four part package valued at $885-million includes incentives for American Airlines, Boeing, river improvements and economic development for education and healthcare.

Bernard Goodman is the CEO for Morton Comprehensive Health Services in north Tulsa. The Vision proposal includes $14-million to build a brand new state-of-the-art medical clinic which Goodman says would help serve not only North Tulsans, but everyone. "We spent more than $500,000 in the past 2 and a half years upkeeping the current facility. The current facility is 71 years old, that $500,000 we could put toward direct servicing to patients."
