(Harrisburg, Pennsylvania-AP) -- The question of Indian-run gambling in Pennsylvania has been left hanging after a group of Oklahoma Indians asked to open a casino.
The Delaware Tribe of Bartlesville and the Delaware Nation of Anadarko announced in May they wanted to claim 315 acres in Northampton County.
The Pennsylvania Legislature is focusing on authorizing slot machines as a way to subsidize education and lower individual property taxes.
Senator Robert C. Wonderling says everyone should be on guard because casinos have been successful in land claims elsewhere in the country.
But gambling law specialist I. Nelson Rose says the chances of an Indian casino in Pennsylvania are probably slim.
