The number of certified teachers in Oklahoma is going down. That's because we're losing them to other states.

The Oklahoma Education Department says the number of regular teaching certificates and licenses have decreased by nearly a third since 1995.

They blame higher pay in other states and new testing requirements that began in 1997.
