(Oklahoma City-AP) -- The FBI says the arrest of a Texas man after two bank robberies in Oklahoma City Tuesday morning may solve a string of bank holdups in Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas.
Gregory Allen Lavers was arrested by Oklahoma City police and FBI agents about 9:30 AM.
No injuries are reported in either robbery.
Special agent Gary Johnson says the first robbery was just after 9, followed by a second about ten minutes later.
Johnson says a police officer responding reports of a suspect running from the second robbery was then nearly hit by a car. The driver of the car stopped and Lavers was arrested by police and FBI agents.
Johnson says all the money from both robberies is believed to have been recovered from Lavers' car.
Johnson says Lavers is a suspect in seven robberies since 2001 in Oklahoma City; Lawton; Wichita Falls, Texas; and in Kansas.
