(Stillwater-AP) -- Oklahoma State quarterback Josh Fields has been named to the pre-season watch list for the 2003 Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award.

The award goes each year to the nation's top college quarterback.

Fields is a junior who has already re-written several OSU passing records.

In 2002, he completed 226 of 408 passes for 3,145 yards, the best single season passing mark in Oklahoma State football history.

In his career, Fields has thrown for 3,596 yards and 34 touchdowns. 31 of his career touchdown tosses came in OSU's 2002 bowl season.

Fields is a Stillwater native and has completed nearly 55% of his career passing attempts.

Semifinalists for the award will be announced in early November.
